Kit Chan in Forbidden City

forbiddencity01

This picture keeps turning up all around town everytime Singapore Repertory Theatre stages Forbidden City. The pay for this shoot was very low and the general manager kept telling me I am expensive. But they are able to hire performers, writers and composers from overseas. Sigh... They have used it to front their musical so many times. Is that not worth something financially? Until arts groups starting treating local talent with respect, it will be difficult to nuture talent in Singapore. Peace.

One solution may be to specify the usage rights in your licence for the pic. Eg.

$xx for the right to use the pic in a free brochure of 650 px size for up to 5000 copies. (Can also specify a time period for allowed usage).

So of they want to use to pic in posters,tv spots other materials the licence fee would be $xxxxxx ;-)

Sounds like mr fong has plan! On the bright side you can now include in your portfolio an image which many islanders would recognise, so its not a total loss! Perhaps you need a mr 20% ;-)
